Manuscript Critique

A manuscript critique is a thorough overview of your work, covering both content and writing style. You will receive an in-depth report discussing the strengths and weaknesses of your work, as well as specific notes in the body of your manuscript. Non-fiction manuscripts will be analyzed for logic, organization, clarity and readability.  Fiction critiques will cover character development, plot, dialogue, and narrative, as well as common issues like 'showing vs. telling' and point of view. The report you will receive typically runs from 2-4 pages, single spaced.

The manuscript critique does not include revisions or copy editing.

Line Edit

A line edit involves correcting grammar, spelling and punctuation errors in the manuscript. It does not include any discussion of the plot or content of your manuscript. Manuscripts sent electronically will have revisions made in red, and they can be either accepted or rejected. Hardcopy manuscripts will be marked in red pencil, and a guide to editing symbols will be included.

Complete Edit

The complete edit combines the manuscript critique with a line edit. I will read your manuscript, correct grammar, spelling and punctuation errors, and provide you with an analysis of the content and writing style. All aspects of both the line edit and the manuscript critique are included.

Rewrites and Ghostwriting

Some manuscripts require more than just an edit. If your book needs extensive work, I offer rewriting and ghostwriting services. Rewriting involves changing large portions of the book, while ghostwriting is used when it's necessary to completely rewrite the book from scratch.

Comic Books

I offer comic book editing services for self publishers and aspiring creators. I will work with you through all the stages of creating your comic, from the script to the finished product. I can provide guidance on plot, pacing, dialogue and characterization, as well as on comic book specific issues like word balloon placement and visual narrative.

Consulting and Coaching

Some clients prefer to have assistance through the entire writing process. I can guide you through your project from start to finish, to ensure that everything turns out just right. These services are tailored to the particular needs of your project.
